Arrecife with a film P&S

I took a 1990’s Minolta Riva Zoom 125 EX 35mm point-and-shoot camera on a recent trip to Arrecife in the Canaries, loaded with a cheap grainy B&W film, to test it out before selling on a well known online auction site. Not a bad little camera.

.

Spanish cities suit B&W photography with their high contrast light and abundance of interesting subjects and Arrecife is no exception. There’s nothing very old there, since the place was covered in hot lava not that long ago, but there’s no high-rise allowed on the island so it has a bit of an old world feel to it.
